Precor Officially Launches Preva® Friday 12th October, Hilton Hotel, Sydney.

Australia among the first to experience a revolution in networked fitness.

Precor's global President, Paul Byrne, officially launched Preva in Australia today at a special event held at Sydney’s Hilton Hotel. Preva is Precor's networked fitness solution that connects operators, exercisers and technology. Australia is among the first countries outside of the US to launch the technology, and the Hilton's LivingWell gym is the first Australian club to feature the technology.

Speaking at the event, Paul said: "Preva provides exercisers with the tools and experiences to achieve their goals and the motivation to set new ones. These same technologies also help facility operators better manage their business with solutions that improve equipment management, increase retention and drive revenue."

"Preva is about engaging exercisers and providing them with a personalised workout, whilst empowering operators to differentiate themselves from the competition," he said.

Preva features an integrated software and hardware experience which combines the touch screen technologies found in the latest mobile phones and electronic tablets with proprietary software to provide a rich and inviting interface.

"For exercisers, it all starts with the P80 console on our 880 cardio line, a natural evolution of the Precor 'Fitness is Foremost' philosophy. Since its introduction, the P80 has won over exercisers with its easy-to-access functionality and the same 'touch' technology that people love on their smartphone or tablet. Navigation is as simple as gesturing and scrolling through simple, uncluttered on-screen options," said Paul.

Preva, designed and maintained by Precor's exclusive dedicated in-house software 'Experience Development Centre', is currently comprised of two key components, Preva Net and Preva Business Suite.

Preva Net provides a wide variety of internet content carefully selected to give exercisers access to popular topics such as health and fitness, news, sports, technology, business and more. Content is delivered in a format designed specifically for the in-motion exerciser, so is easy to read and navigate, providing a safe and enjoyable user experience.

In addition to popular internet content, Preva Net gives facilities the option of enabling web browser capability so exercisers can access their favourite websites during their workout.

Preva Net also provides operators with the ability to communicate with their facility members via web feeds, for detailed, e-newsletter-style communication, or short bursts if information via welcome messages. This enables them to promote other services to help boost secondary spend, and generate additional income by selling advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

Preva Business Suite is a web portal interface which simplifies the management and monitoring of Precor cardio equipment by allowing operators to see real-time equipment usage, view usage trends and better allocate club resources from any internet connected computer. They can also get in-depth reports by cardio type to see trends by hour, day or cumulative use, helping to identify a facility’s busiest and slowest times and thus providing valuable insights for potential member campaigns.

This unparalleled technology delivers an enhanced experience for exercisers, making Preva a powerful tool for attracting and retaining members.
