Australia among the first to experience the latest advance in networked fitness

Leading fitness equipment manufacturer and supplier Precor has launched Preva Personal Accounts in Australia – the latest addition to its market-leading networked fitness package, Preva®.

Preva Personal Accounts, a cloud-based software solution available on Precor’s innovative P80 touch-screen consoles, will enhance the way exercisers engage with their workouts. This new feature offers exercisers the personalised experience they increasingly expect by allowing them to set fitness goals, track progress, earn achievement reward badges and save their favourite workouts. Users can access their account from any Precor equipped facility in the world that has Preva Personal Accounts.

According to Brent Brooks, Vice President of Networked Fitness at Precor, Preva Personal Accounts will bring goal-setting to life for exercisers.

“Members can set personal workout goals each week, choose targets that are relevant to them – distance, calories or duration – and select an individual long-term focus, for example losing weight or toning up.

“The system allows exercisers to measure their progress by providing a weekly goal summary and alerts them if they’re on or off target, automatically recalculating any remaining workouts so they still reach their goal,” he said.

“Preva Personal Accounts is the latest exciting feature to join our growing networked fitness solution, and we are very excited to be among the first in the world to launch it,” says Andy Pickett, Business Director for Precor Australia. “It’s been created to give members a personalised experience that will help them get the most out of every workout and so achieve their long-term goals.

“As well as providing recognition rewards to celebrate milestones users reach, Preva Personal Accounts also allows exercisers to track their lifetime totals, so they can see the calories burnt, distance travelled and time they’ve spent exercising. Milestone badges are shown to constantly give exercisers something to strive for and help keep them motivated and engaged.”

To help make the exercise experience as seamless as possible, Preva Personal Accounts also allows users to save workouts they’ve created, so their ‘favourite’ last session is ready and waiting for them the next time they log in.

“This is a great added-value tool for gym staff and also for Personal Trainers. They can now create a targeted workout while they’re with a member and it can be saved in Preva Personal Accounts for the next time the member comes in, without the need for programme cards or print outs,” adds Andy.

The existing Preva networked fitness portfolio also includes Preva Business Suite (PBS), which enables operators to monitor and manage the use of their equipment to help them run an effective fitness facility and Preva Net, which provides members with a wide variety of internet content, delivered in a format specifically designed for the in-motion exerciser. Together, the features offered by Preva provide both the personalised experience that consumers are coming to expect in this advancing age of technology, and the business tools that operators need to manage their facility.
